My favorite projects: Volcano
In 2009 I created my first matte paintings for a TV disaster movie in which a huge volcano erupts.
The film industry was a completely different time back then:
We produced in the final resolution of 720 576 pixels (that's no joke)... and our computers still had problems processing the data :)
The industry was more decelerated than today. Our team had almost 6 months of research and design before we started shooting. And even though the production was so long ago, you can still see in the work today that we had so much research time available.
